ArcStyler is a model-driven architecture (MDA) platform for designing and generating enterprise software from high-level models. Developed by Interactive Objects Software GmbH, it helps teams capture platform-independent models (PIMs) using standard notations such as UML, then transform them into platform-specific models (PSMs) and executable artifacts. Using customizable transformation templates—often referred to as cartridges—ArcStyler automates the creation of code, configuration, and documentation for enterprise technologies such as Java EE, .NET, CORBA, and Web services.

Key capabilities:

  • Architecture-centric modeling with UML and domain-specific profiles
  • Reusable, customizable cartridges to enforce patterns, standards, and best practices
  • Automated generation of source code, configuration files, build scripts, and documentation
  • Model-to-model and model-to-code transformations from PIM to PSM
  • Consistency checks and guidance to keep architecture and implementation aligned
  • Collaboration support and integration points for existing development toolchains

Benefits:

  • Speeds delivery by reducing manual boilerplate coding and focusing effort on architecture and design
  • Improves quality and consistency through repeatable, policy-driven transformations
  • Simplifies platform evolution by regenerating artifacts from stable models
  • Promotes reuse of architectural assets across teams and projects

ArcStyler is well-suited for enterprise architects, solution architects, and software engineers building large, distributed, or mission-critical systems who want predictable, standards-based automation from model to implementation.

ArcStyler is developed by Interactive Objects Software GmbH. The most popular version of this product among our users is 5.5.
